Coach read

The coach conversation should start with the earliest breakdown point, not every possible catcher trait. The goal is to make the first decision visible earlier and more repeatable.

First focus

Watch whether the athlete can organize the defense and settle the catcher sequence before the rep speeds up.

Next two weeks
  • Use short controlled rep clusters where the athlete must show the same pre-pitch organization each time.
  • Add tempo only after the first decision cue appears without repeated reminders.
  • Track whether the second and third reps look closer to the first clean rep.
Questions for the coach
  • Where does the sequence first break when tempo rises?
  • Which cue carries into the next rep without a reset?
  • What should be retested in 30 days?
