Privacy Policy for Payee Ledger
Effective September 23, 2026. Payee Ledger is designed as a local-first recordkeeping app.
What this means in practice
Data collection
Payee Ledger does not operate a developer account system, advertising system, analytics service, or developer-hosted backend for app records. Beneficiary names or nicknames, ledger entries, receipt images or PDFs, reconciliation records, and backup data are stored locally on your device unless you deliberately export or share them.
Information you enter
You may choose to enter beneficiary recordkeeping information such as names or nicknames, benefit deposits, expenses, merchants, categories, dates, payment methods, notes, bank-statement balances, and supporting documents. Payee Ledger does not require Social Security numbers or online-banking credentials.
Camera, photos, and files
If you choose to scan or attach evidence, iOS may give the app temporary access to the camera, selected photos, or files needed for that action. Imported documents are saved with your local Payee Ledger records.
Device security
If you enable App Lock, Payee Ledger asks iOS to authenticate you with Face ID or the device passcode. The app does not receive or store biometric templates.
Notifications
If you enable reconciliation reminders, Payee Ledger uses local notifications scheduled on your device. Reminder scheduling does not require a developer server.
Purchases
Payee Ledger Pro is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes billing and purchase transactions. The app reads Apple-provided entitlement information to determine whether Pro is unlocked; Payee Ledger does not receive your full payment-card details.
Exports and backups
When you create a CSV, evidence packet, or backup, the file is generated on your device. Once you use the iOS share sheet or save a file to another service or location, that destination's privacy practices apply.
Apple device backups
Depending on your device and Apple backup settings, app data may be included in an iCloud or computer backup managed by Apple and controlled through your device settings.
Data deletion
Payee Ledger includes an in-app option to erase local app records. Deleting the app also removes its local app container, subject to any separate device backups or files you previously exported.
Tracking and advertising
Payee Ledger does not use advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
Government affiliation
Payee Ledger is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Social Security Administration or another government agency.
